Outbrain – Content Ratings and Recommendations

One of the great pleasures of surfing the web is to find information about things you don’t know existed. You may drop upon an interesting blog post, and then start a web search about that subject.

Outbrain came up with a clever idea – by recommending posts similar to the post your are currently reading. Outbrain is a platform for ratings and recommendations of blog/RSS posts. In ways, it’s similar to Amazon’s People who liked this also liked XYZ, or Netflix ratings/recommendations, etc., just applied to blog content.

By creating a plugin, bloggers can now allow there users to grade posts and get recommendation posts on other blogs based on the rater’s preferences.

Really cool.
